Calliope’s Call’s initiatives, such as the Young Singer Competition (YSC) and Call For Scores (CFS), prioritize nurturing emerging talent and composers in the realm of Art Song. Through these programs, the organization aims to provide a platform for individuals to showcase their skills and creativity, contributing to the enrichment and evolution of the genre.

  • Young Singer Art Song Competition

Since 2019, Calliope's Call's Young Singer Competition supports young artists in the genre of Art Song. The competition’s mission is to  broaden repertoire selections by highlighting  works by composers of color and compositions developed in the last two decades. Entrants receive feedback from industry experts, compete for cash prizes, and winning performances are showcased in Calliope's Call e-newsletter and YouTube Channel.

  • Call For Scores

Established in 2016, the Call for Scores competition upholds the works of various living composers globally. It showcases pieces from both established and up-and-coming artists, fostering a diverse range of voices in the genre. Over five concert cycles, this initiative has led to the performance of 21 new and undiscovered compositions. Winners have encompassed composition students, emerging professionals, and renowned composers.
